Luang Phor Yam was born on the 5th day of the first month in the year B.E.2458(1915). He was born in the Nakhon Pathom Province. LP Yam became monk in his age 23years B.E.2481(1938). He became the disciple of Luang Phor Tae from Wat Sam Ngam. LP Yam was very intelligent and he finished the basic buddha course within a very short period. Then, LP Yam learnt higher Buddha teaching and magical powers from LP Tae , such as meditation, incantation and special charm incantation.

Luang Phor Yam has been a monk for more than 70 years. He has been one of the most renowned monks in Thailand. His meditation skill can help him to predict the future. He is well known for his divination and medical skills, and known particularly for Guman Thong through out Thailand. This special skill was passed down from his master Luang Phor Tae to him. LP Yam was appointed as the future abbot of Wat Sam Ngam in B.E.2500(1957). LP Yam followed his master methods regardless of meditation or religious duties, and he is highly skilled at meditation and making Guman Thong.

In B.E.2525(1982), LP Yam officially took over the post of abbot of Wat Sam Ngam. He then started to develop the temple. He renovated and extended the principal monastery in Wat Sam Ngam and built new monasteries to accommodate more monks. He also built school and halls for funeral. Besides his profound insights and the sacrifices he has made, he is well known and respected for the amulets created by him. The first time he created the amulets was in B.E.2505(1962). At present, these amulets are very rare.

There was once when a police was shot by a thief but the bullet did not go into his body. There was only a minor injury on his body like the one being bitten by mosquito. Since then, LP Yam became well known for his amulets. After that, he has created many kinds of holy items such as Phra Kring Barami, Khun Paen amulets made of herbal powder, Nang Phya amulets, Guman Thong and other protective items.

But the most special is of course Guman Thong. This special skill was passed down from Lung Phor Chaem to Luang Phor Tae before to LP Yam. In Thailand, many Buddhists like to bring in LP Yam Guman Thong. Regardless of where it is put, either in the shop or house, it is a very powerful holy item that can bring wealth to anyone. This skill is indeed not easy to master. Only those monks with high meditation ability and magical powers are able to produce this holy item. It takes a long time and a great effort to make a good Guman Thong. Besides, special materials are needed in making Guman Thong to produce the most powerful effect.

Guman Thong is thus treated as one of the holiest Buddhist items in Thailand. That is why Luang Phor Chaem, Luang Phor Tae and Luang Phor Yam are well known in Thailand and abroad. Luang Phor Yam treats Guman Thong like his own son. To bring the Guman Thong back to the body, he will do the chanting, pour holy water and bless for each Guman Thong. He carefully attaches pieces of gold to each Guman Thong. Besides chanting, he also reminds each Guman Thong to be a good child whenever they go and to help those who bring it in gain wealth and protect them from any harm. He also advises those who bring in Guman Thong to treat it nicely.
